Our story
The town’s hockey bar since 2004
The Penalty Box opened in 2004 when a retired rec-league goalie decided the town needed one place where every game was on and the wings were done right.
Twenty-odd years later the jerseys on the wall belong to local teams, the rec leagues still come in after their games and the wing recipe hasn’t changed. Families are welcome in the afternoon; it gets loud after 8.

Can I order food to go?
Yes. Add food from the menu on this page, pick today or tomorrow and a 15-minute pickup window, and it’ll be bagged at the bar. Pay when you pick up. Pop, juice and non-alcoholic beer can go in the bag; beer, wine and cocktails are dine-in only and can’t be ordered for pickup.
Is there sound on for games?
Sound is on for the main game on the big screen. Other screens have captions.
Can you put my game on?
Almost always. We have 18 screens and every major sports package; just ask your server.
Do you take reservations?
For groups of eight or more, and for big games. Use the group booking form or call us.
Is there a dress code?
No. Come as you are.
Do you take cards?
Yes: debit, credit, tap and cash.
Is it all ages?
Kids are welcome with an adult until 8 pm. After 8 pm it’s 19+ with ID.
Is there parking?
Free street parking after 6 pm and a public lot behind the building.
